Indy cornerback Reed visits UK
Indianapolis Pike cornerback Jonathan Reed made the three-hour drive from Indianapolis to Lexington to take in the Kentucky junior day Saturday.
Reed, who is 5 feet 9 and 178 pounds, said he got quality time with Kentucky coaches and players during the weekend.
"They didn't invite that many people, so we got a lot more one-on-one time with coaches," Reed said. "Relationships were built a little better."
Reed met with recruiting coordinator/linebackers coach Chuck Smith, who is UK's primary recruiter in Indiana, and met defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator Steve Brown for the first time.
He met with current defensive players and said he picked up "a good vibe."
Reed does not have a scholarship offer from Kentucky. His offers are from a few Midwestern non-BCS-league programs. He has already attended junior events at Michigan State and Louisville and intends to attend events at Indiana and Iowa.
"I was really impressed with them
(Kentucky)," Reed said. "I really liked the Southern hospitality."
Pike quarterback Aloyis Gray also visited UK that day.
