Texas ATH looking at Oregon
Texas is known for producing a lot of talented prospects and this year is no different. Chip Kelly has had pretty good success in the past few years dipping into the state to grab such talents as LaMichael James, Darron Thomas, Lache Seastrunk and Anthony Wallace. This year the Ducks are looking at several prospects including Nicky Baratti from Spring, TX.
Baratti had an impressive junior season helping his Klein Oak Panthers reach the state playoffs. Baratti played multiple positions for Klein Oak amassing 1,267 yards rushing and another 1,837 yards passing while contributing 30 touchdowns to the Panther's offensive production. Duck Sports Authority recently caught up with Baratti to see how much interest teams are showing him early on and where the Ducks stand.
"I'm hearing from about everybody right now," said Baratti. "I'm just keeping my mind open and looking for the place that fits me."
Baratti claims eleven offers already from schools including Notre Dame, Texas Tech, West Virginia, and Arizona State to name a few. He is also being recruited to play multiple positions from quarterback to wide receiver to linebacker but Baratti says that Oregon is looking at him as a QB.
"I really like Oregon. I want to learn more about the program because I don't really know about it. Coach Kelly came down after the championship but I'd like to talk to them more and see what they're about and learn more about there program."
