Stansbury talking Kentucky
Mississippi State has seen its share of struggles this season but Saturday night's 65-62 loss to Auburn seemed to hit a new low.
The Bulldogs blew a 19-point lead in the final 11 minutes of the game and Rick Stansbury will have to find a way to rebound his team with a quick turnaround traveling to Kentucky on Tuesday night.
"We're coming off a tough loss Saturday at Auburn," Stansbury said. "There's not much time to recover. I guess going to Lexington is not a real fun place to try to recover. We know it will be a difficult challenge for us up there. They've got a really good basketball team in particular at home where they play at another level. It's a great challenge for us but at the same time a great opportunity."
MSU shot the ball extremely well in the first half against Auburn but went cold down the stretch which was also when the Tigers caught fire and left the Bulldogs scrambling to catchup.
"For about 35 minutes we were pretty good," Stansbury said. "We've got a 13-point lead with 4:21 left to go and get a technical. That's disappointing. I think that changed the whole mood of what was going on. It also changed the mood of the officials because in the next 20-seconds (Renardo) Sidney gets number four and number five fouls called against him. It was a bang-bang plays that happened within six seconds of each other.
