Georgia preview

Mississippi State will try to keep up its winning ways matched up against an SEC East opponent for the first time.

MSU will hit the road for Athens against the league's other Bulldogs, Georgia, at 3 p.m. today.

State has won two straight games knocking off Ole Miss by five on the road and pummeling Auburn 85-66 at home on Sunday. The wins brought Mississippi State's record to 10-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

MSU holds a slight edge in the series against Georgia at 52-49 having won the last three meetings. State has also claimed eight of the last 10 games in the series and won including four wins in Stegeman Coliseum.

Mississippi State won last year's contest 72-69 in Starkville behind 15 point performances from Dee Bost and Phil Turner. Turner scored his point total in just 16 minutes off the bench.
