Three in the Key, Civil War Edition


Here we go Beaver Nation. Our rivals from the south are coming to town and I think we give them a little pay back as the loss to end our football season has left a bad taste in many Beavers fans' mouths. The Civil War men's hoops game is the most played rivalry in NCAA history, as the Beavers and Ducks will tip off for the 334th time this Saturday. The Beavers also hold another NCAA record, their 183 victories over the fowls from down I-5 marks the most wins by one team over another in NCAA history.

This year the Ducks come to town looking somewhat different, as for the past 13 seasons students in the Beaver Dam and other Beaver faithful have had the joy of heckling former Duck head man Ernie Kent. After last season, Kent was fired and Dana Altman was lured away from Creighton after 16 seasons.

Altman was definitely a capable coach at the mid-major level as he won 65% of his 503 games and led the Bluejays to 7 appearances in the NCAA tournament.
