NU gets second shot at Gibson

This is is not the way Deonte Gibson thought things would work out.

About four months after committing to Pittsburgh and one week after winning a state championship, the Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward defensive end finds himself starting the recruiting process all over again in the wake of the forced resignation of Panther head coach Dave Wannstedt.

The unexpected turn of events does benefit Northwestern, however, because the Wildcats will get a second shot to land one of their top defensive targets of 2011. Gibson says Northwestern is one of four schools that he is taking another long look at before making a decision.
