Alcorn State Preview

For just the second time in history a Southeastern Conference program will host a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference on the gridiron.

In both of those instances it has been Mississippi State blazing the trail for the SEC hosting in state opponent Jackson State to open the 2009 season and again today against Alcorn State at 11 a.m.

The Bulldogs will try to keep a string of six consecutive sellouts at Davis Wade Stadium alive and are looking for their third consecutive non-conference victory dating back to the win over Middle Tennessee State last season.

MSU evened their record to 2-2 last week with a 24-12 win over Georgia which also improved their conference slate to 1-2.
