Four-star DB Kirby has five favorites, officials
Four-star safety Dondi Kirby has been frustrated of late as an injury has prevented him from seeing the field during his senior campaign.
Kirby tore his ACL at a 7-on-7 event held at Michigan over the summer and that injury ended his high school football career.
It hasn't been easy for the 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway to watch his teammates take on the competition without being able to join them on the field, but he's trying to make the most of it.
"It kills me every day knowing that I'm not on the field with them," Kirby admitted in an interview with Rivals.com this week.
Despite that, Kirby has plenty of schools that have stuck by him and let him know he is still a very high priority for them in the Class of 2011. With offers from schools all over the country, Kirby still has an extremely bright future.
While dates are not set yet Kirby knows where he will be going for his five official visits.
"I'm [officially] visiting Maryland, USC, Florida, Iowa and North Carolina," he said. "I've been talking to a lot of coaches [lately].
"The five that I'm taking visits to are my top five. I'm going to name my school after all my visits."
Kirby is ranked the No. 8 safety in the nation.
