Riles impresses at Nike Camp
It did not take long to find Bessemer, Ala., standout Jervohnte Riles last Saturday among the group of receivers at the Tuscaloosa Nike Football Training Camp.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder towered over his receiver counterparts and was among the top wideouts on the day.
"From my perspective after talking to the coaches after the drills they told me a couple of things I can work on," Riles said. "I think I did pretty well. The coaches were telling me how I can improve and if I keep improving that I'll be Division I."
Riles also impressed Rivals recruiting analyst Barry Every, who was evaluating the camp.
"Excellent route runner, good hands and excellent body control for a big receiver," Every wrote. "Worked out at receiver, but may lack the outright speed to stay at wideout. Riles made a ton of catches during pass skeleton and individual drills using his size and body control to shield off defensive backs. He currently has three offers. Look for him to project as an athletic tight end that will cause serious matchup issues. Riles could also play weakside defensive end at the next level."
Riles offers include Mississippi State, South Carolina and Southern Miss and recently picked up a scholarship from Memphis.
