Mabry commits to Baylor
After a week of mulling over an offer from the Baylor staff, San Antonio MacArthur junior Ashaad Mabry decided that his recruitment had finally reached an end when he committed late Monday night.
"I got my offer about a week ago. I was really, really happy, but I wasn't 100% sure about it just yet; I had to think about itmore," Mabry said. "When I finally decided t commit, I called Coach Achuff and told him I wanted to commit."
With additional offers from SMU and Idaho, as well as significant interest from Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, Mabry chose Baylor after visiting for a junior day earlier this year mainly because of the staff, the campus, and the proximity to his home in San Antonio.
"I really like the coaches at Baylor, I liked the campus, and I like the fact that it's only about two and a half hours away," Mabry said. "The campus is just beautiful, and the facilities are really, really nice. My mom actually has always wanted me to go to Baylor. She alwaysreally liked Coach Achuff and the fact that I would be close to home. That's what I like, too, so it works.
