Elite DE talks Tide
Rivals250 to Watch member Jermauria Rasco has been taking things slow this spring after amassing over two dozen offers from top programs from nearly every conference. The Shreveport, Louisiana native visited in-state LSU for their first spring practice and has yet to take another visit to any college this spring.
"I've had a lot going on this semester and have really tried to take things slow," Rasco said. "I was planning to go to Alabama this weekend for the A-Day game but my travel plans fell through and it looks like I won't be able to make it. I may ride down to McNeese State with one of my teammates but other than that I don't really have anything else planned for this spring."
"The same kind of goes for me as far as plans for this summer too. I have so much going on that I kind of have to make a lot of these decisions at the last minute when an opportunity comes up. My schedule is always changing so pretty much everything ends up being last minute for me."
While Rasco said he was disappointed that he wouldn't make it to Tuscaloosa for A-Day, he did come away from the Tide's Junior Day earlier this year impressed with what he saw and eager to learn more about the program.
"I like Alabama a lot from what I know so far. I was really impressed with what I saw from them last year and my experience with the coaches has been great. They are all really cool guys but also very business-like in how they handle recruiting. They aren't trying to get you fired up or anything, they are just laying out to you why they think playing for Alabama would be the best decision for me and my future. I like that approach and it's part of the reason I have such a good relationship with them right now."
Rasco, who stands at 6-foot-3, 227-pounds, said he plans to take his time with the recruiting process and said that fans shouldn't expect a decision from him before the end of the upcoming football season.
"As of now, I don't have any leaders or favorites. I plan on having a pretty good idea of what my short list will be at the end of the summer but I will still have a long way to go after that point. This is not a decision I want to make quickly or lightly. I want to put a lot of thought into this so that I get it right."
Rasco boasts a 3.1 GPA and notched 26 sacks as a sophomore defensive end in 2008.
