Practice in the Truax Indoor Center was spirited and up tempo from the get go. Players were high-fiving and coaches were smiling and shaking hands as the team went through stretching and individual drill work.

Multiple potential recruits were lining the sidelines with their families. Angie will have more on this later today.

Justin Kahut looks like his leg got stronger, he was bombing kicks from as deep as 48 with plenty of room to spare and incredible hang time. The depth here is an area of concern as Kahut is the only place kicker currently listed on the 2010 roster.

Add James to that foursome and you'd be hard pressed to find a "bad" combo using any two of the five.

Returning punts was James Rodgers, Markus Wheaton, and Kevan Walker. There were a few drops, however Walker and Wheaton looked good along side Rodgers who has established himself as one of the best return men in the nation. Poyer moved over as well and fielded punts, hoisted high by the Juggs machine.
