Bruin tight end targets

The Bruins are in the market for at least one tight end, possibly two and they have given offers out to three of the nation's best. All three have multiple offers from colleges coast-to-coast and all three are threats catching the ball, not just glorified offensive linemen. The prospects are listed in alphabetical order.

Colt Lyerla (6-5, 225, 4.6) Hillsboro, Ore.

Skinny: Lyerla could have easily been included in the section on athletes, but the Bruins are recruiting him as a tight end. He played all over the field for Hillsboro, but in one game against his school's biggest rival, he made a clutch catch of 64 yards with no time left to win the game while being surrounded by defenders. An Oregon legend was born. He has been on the national recruiting radar after a standout performance at the Schuman Underclass combine when leaped 40-inch vertical and 10-10 broad jump. He has been hard to get a hold of for a recruiting update, but usually players like Lyerla stay in the state and end up playing for Oregon or Oregon. UCLA hope that they will be use the same kind of magic that resulted in Portland (Ore) Douglas five-star defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa deciding on UCLA.
