Baltimore duo make their official visit

After committing to Iowa early in the recruiting process, Baltimore teammates Jim Poggi and Anthony Ferguson returned to campus this past weekend for their official visit with the Hawkeyes. The trip also gave them a chance to see a game in Kinnick Stadium for the first time, which Iowa won 12-0 over Minnesota. We caught up with Poggi, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker, to talk about the visit.

Q: What was it like going out to Iowa City again this weekend?

POGGI: Oh, it was great as always. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing out there. It was a lot of fun.

Q: Who was your host for the weekend?

POGGI: We actually had two because the team had to stay in the hotel for the first night. The first night, my host was Shane DiBona, a redshirt freshman. Then the second night, Anthony and I both had Mike Daniels hosting us.

Q: What was different on this visit than previous ones for you?

POGGI: Well, the biggest thing was getting to see a game. That was absolutely out of this world. We got to go down on the field real fast before the game and it was electric. I mean it was absolutely crazy.
