What's wrong with the running game?

Miami (Ohio) was supposed to be the cure for what was ailing Northwestern's running game. Instead, the RedHawks showed that the Wildcats' rushing attack is on life-support.

The RedHawks came into the game ranked 95th in the nation against the run, allowing 172 yards per game and 4.7 yards per carry. The Wildcats, however, managed just 128 yards on 41 rushes, an average of a sickly 3.1 yards per carry.
