More attrition hit Nebraska's roster on Tuesday, as freshman forward Kevin Cross announced he was leaving the program and entering his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The 6-foot-7 240-pound native of Little Rock, Ark., appeared in all 32 games with two starts as a true freshman last season. He averaged 7.1 points and 3.9 rebounds while playing 18.7 minutes per contest.

His departure leaves Nebraska with two open scholarships for the 2020-21 season.

Cross ranked fifth among all Big Ten true freshmen in rebounding and seventh in both scoring and 3-pointers per game (1.0).

His combination of size and perimeter scoring ability made him an intriguing long-term prospect in Fred Hoiberg's system, but with the influx of veteran players via the transfer market to NU's roster, Cross opted to take his talents elsewhere after just one season.
