Washington State University wide receiver Jason Hill and defensive end Mkristo Bruce have been named to the preseason All-Pacific-10 Conference first team by the Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook, the publication recently announced.

Hill, a senior from San Francisco, Calif., is a two-time All-Pac-10 second team selection and was a SI.com All-America honorable mention pick. He led the Cougars with 62 catches for 1,097 yards and a school-record 13 touchdowns receptions in 2005. Hill averaged 109.7 yards per game, fourth nationally, and posted six catches for a career-high 240 yards and three touchdowns at California.

Bruce, a senior from Renton, Wash., joined Hill on the All-Pac-10 second team last season after posting career-best numbers of 67 tackles, including 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries. The 15 tackles for loss were tied for first in the Pac-10 while his career-high 10 sacks were second in the conference. For his career Bruce's 18.5 sacks rank sixth all-time at WSU.

Both Hill and Bruce, along with senior linebacker Scott Davis and junior quarterback Alex Brink, were elected co-captains for the upcoming season. The Cougars open their 2006 campaign Sept. 3 at Auburn in a nationally-televised game on ESPN2. WSU opens its six-game home schedule with a Sept. 9 meeting against Idaho.

The Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook will be available in July at www.blueribbonyearbook.com.
