Rivals.com hired Sean Callahan in December of 2003 to work specifically for HuskerOnline.com, but he has worked with the company since 1999. Callahan has covered the daily Nebraska football practices and games since August of 1999 for a number of different media outlets. Callahan was named the 2006 and 2007 Nebraska Sports Writer of the year by the National Sports Writers and Sports Broadcasters Association of America and he was a finalist for the award again in 2008. He also received the 2006-07 Rivals.com Distinguished Service Award - the highest honor a Rivals.com employee can receive. On top of his work for HuskerOnline.com, Callahan is heard on New Talk 1110 KFAB on a daily basis throughout the football season with his Husker reports from Lincoln. KFAB is the flag ship station for Nebraska football. In 2007, Callahan also served as the sideline reporter for the Husker Sports Network on their game day football broadcasts and was involved in their pre and post game shows. On the TV side, Callahan reports for KETV Channel 7 in Omaha as their official Nebraska football correspondent four nights per week during the season. Callahan also appears on NET's statewide Big Red Wrap-up show every Tuesday night during the football season to breakdown Husker recruiting. Before joining Rivals.com on a full-time basis, Callahan got his broadcasting degree at UNL and worked for ESPN TV and Radio in Bristol, 1620 the Zone radio in Omaha, WOWT Channel 6 TV in Omaha, KM 3 TV in Omaha, The Daily Nebraskan, Recruits Unlimited and KRNU Radio. Director of Message Boards/Senior Recruiting Writer
Matya has followed Nebraska football all of his life and has been a member of various Nebraska bulletin boards for the past ten years. He was born and raised in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Central in 1983. In 2001, he answered a request for help writing recruiting updates for HuskerOnline.com and turned a life-long passion into an avocation. Senior Team Writer
Washut joins the HuskerOnline.com staff after spending the past year as the assistant sports editor at the Montrose (Colo.) Daily Press. Before that, he spent the past eight years covering Nebraska athletics, particularly football, as a contributing writer for local newspapers including the Omaha World-Herald (2006-07), the Lincoln Journal Star (2000-06) and the Daily Nebraskan (2001-06). Washut will be the No. 2 football writer behind Sean Callahan, as well as the No. 1 men's basketball writer. Recruiting Staff Writer/Analyst
Clouse joins the HuskerOnline.com staff with an impressive background in college football recruiting. He started his career while an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska serving as a Recruiting Staff Assistant from 2002-09 under three different Head Coaches. Clouse was heavily involved in all aspects of the recruiting process during his time at Nebraska. His primary roles were breaking down film, gathering prospect information, assisting with organizing and hosting official and unofficial campus visits, and working Nebraska's summer high school football camps. Clouse learned valuable skills and knowledge while working with well over 50 different coaches and prominent administrators during his time at Nebraska. In the summer of 2003 Clouse worked for former Husker Mike Minter's company, Recruits Unlimited. Clouse was in charge of testing over 1,000 high school prospects in the 40 yard dash over the course of multiple camps and combines. From 2009-10 he served as the Director of Recruiting for the upstart Iowa Western Community College football program. During his time at Iowa Western Clouse recruited Louisiana, parts of Texas, and South Florida. He played a large role in coordinating the recruiting process by identifying and evaluating potential prospects, obtaining prospect information, and sending correspondence to prospects and high school coaches. In 2011 Clouse became the owner and operator of his own Junior College recruiting service. His service specializes in highlights and scouting evaluations on prospects from Junior Colleges located in the Midwest. Dan Hoppen is the newest member of the HuskerOnline.com team. A graduate from the University of Nebraska in the spring of 2012, Hoppen has worked for three years at the Daily Nebraskan as a senior staff writer covering Husker football, basketball and other sports. Hoppen has also worked for the Omaha World-Herald as a part-time intern over the last year. He began his college career at Hastings where he played basketball and is also graduated from Millard North High School. Video Producer/Reporter/Recruiting Analyst
Peterson joined the HuskerOnline staff in July 2011 after almost eight years at Rivals.com in Brentwood, Tennessee. Rivals.com hired Peterson in 2004 while he was finishing his undergraduate degree in broadcasting at UNL. As National Video Producer for Rivals.com AMP, Peterson spent most of his time on the road, visiting with the top prospects in the country, ranked in the Rivals100 and 250 and producing video features for Rivals.com AMP. Peterson was also a valuable part of the Rivals.com national recruiting team as a recruiting analyst, taking part in recruiting rankings, recruit updates and recruit evaluations. He was also a regular guest on Rivals Radio. Each year at Rivals.com, he covered events like the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Elite 11, Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, The Shrine Bowl of the Carolina's, The Maryland Crab Bowl, NIKE Football Training Camps across the country, Badger Sports 7-on-7, VTO Sports combines, NUC Ultimate 100, Texas State 7-on-7 Championships, FBU Top Gun, U.S. Army Junior combine, National Select 7-on-7 and USA vs. the World...just to name a few. Peterson has produced several video features with players that are now starring in the NFL and NBA. He has also produced video recruiting features for Max Preps and Schuman's NUC Ultimate 100. He was born in Omaha, and moved to Lincoln at 1 year of age when his dad was named principal at Mickle Junior High School.
