The Hilltoppers picked up a trio of gridiron warriors during the final weekend of official recruiting visitations before the big day on Wednesday.
Ballard (Louisville, Ky.) wide receiver Cam Lewis gave WKU his verbal pledge during his official visit. Standing at 6-foot-3, he will be another tall target to instill in the Petrino-style offense.
The Toppers also got a pair of cornerbacks in two-star prospect De'Andre Simmons out of Royal Palm Beach (Fla.) High School and Southwestern College (Chula Vista, Ca.) versatility man, Rashad Greene.
I caught up with Greene to get his impressions of Western Kentucky during his visit to the Hill.
"Everything was good, from the players to the coaches, the field, and the facilities, I just loved everything. The coaches are some of the greatest coaches in the country and those are the type of coaches I want to be around."
Even though Greene waited until Sunday to make his commitment official, he had Western Kentucky on his mind for a while.
"I knew I was going to commit right when I found out they were interested in me. I always wanted to play for a coach like Petrino."
Greene hopes to gain more experience at the cornerback position, having only played five games at that spot where he recorded 18 tackles and four interceptions last season.
While he gains the necessary experience, he will rely on his athleticism to make plays. And athleticism is something Greene has a lot of.
Before switching to cornerback, Greene played wide receiver and was a kickoff return specialist for the mighty Jaguars.
