December 14, 2011The Waterford football team advanced all the way to Camp Randall this past season and competed for a WIAA Division 2 state title.
The run was the most successful in school history, and junior defensive tackle Brandon Miller was a big reason why the Wolverines finished 12-2 in 2011.
"This year was real exciting and our team has never gone that far before," Miller, 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, told BadgerBlitz.com. "I thought I did pretty well and made some key plays to get us to where we ended up. It was a real successful season that a lot of us will remember for a long time.
"I played primarily defensive tackle but I played on the offensive a little bit, too. Just wherever they needed me."
The Wisconsin coaching staff was able to see Miller at camp this past summer and invited him for an unofficial visit this fall.
"I'm just getting weekly letters from Wisconsin telling how their game went and just recapping the stuff that is going on with the team," Miller said. "I visited for the game against Purdue and we had a tour of the facility with lunch and then we watched the game.
"Everything was really nice."
Michigan State, which lost to UW in the Big Ten championship game, is also showing interest.
"I'm getting the same kind of weekly letters from Michigan State," he said. "I'm emailing back and forth with a few schools right now but the main two are Wisconsin and Michigan State."
Though winter is set to begin shortly, Miller already has an idea where he would like to camp this summer.
"I'll for sure be going to the camp in Madison again this year," he said. "I went last year and I felt I learned a lot. There is also a camp in Northern Illinois that my dad wants me to check out, so I'll probably go to that."
Wisconsin currently has one verbal commitment in the 2013 class from Pittsburgh tight end Scott Orndorff.
