Solon kicker Marshall Koehn is going to continue his football career at the University of Iowa. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Koehn will join the program as a preferred walk-on this summer.

According to Solon head coach Kevin Miller, Koehn made his decision today, choosing to walk on at Iowa over similar opportunities at Iowa State and UNI.

As a senior, Koehn earned first team all-state honors after making 13 of 18 field goals with a long of 48 yards. He also sent 45 of his 82 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks and averaged 38 yards per punt for the state champion Spartans.

Koehn is the first known walk-on prospect in Iowa's 2011 recruiting class.
