Ask Matt Caddell, and the third-receiver role on Alabama's football team isn't even a battle so much as a consolation prize. Ask the position coach, Curt Cignetti, and under staff policy he wouldn't be able to respond.
And ask the one guy who has played his way above the discussion, record-breaking receiver DJ Hall, and he can't handicap the race with fewer than six names.
"Mike, Earl, Nikita, Matt," Hall said. "

Sounds more like a law firm than a wide receiver rotation. But when the Crimson Tide opens the 2007 season two weeks from Saturday, the huddle won't often break with more than three receivers, and two of them are all but certain to be Hall and Keith Brown.
