Benton welcomes high expectations
When DeAngelo Benton steps on the Jordan-Hare Stadium turf for the first time in September, he knows expectations will already be sky high.
That doesn't faze the freshman receiver.
It has instead served as motivation to live up to them.
"It makes you work harder," Benton said. "Knowing that you have high expectations, you have to go out there and get the job done."
The Auburn coaching staff hasn't exactly done anything to temper the hype. Both Benton and Emory Blake walked into the first day of fall camp and worked with the first group.
Receivers coach Trooper Taylor was adamant during spring practice that his experienced players were getting their chance then. Now, he said, it's time for the newcomers to get a look.
