What a difference a year makes. Last summer Chance Carter picked up a verbal offer from Notre Dame after a strong performance at the Irish summer camp. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end from Evanston, Ill, returned to South Bend to find out if he still fits into Notre Dame's recruiting plan. Carter learned that position from the Irish staff.
