Bruins need seamless transition
While on paper UCLA's defense looks to be very good in 2009. The architect of UCLA's defense, DeWayne Walker is gone. He is now running his own program and by all accounts doing a standup job at New Mexico State. Before the arrival of Walker, UCLA's defenses were considered embarrassingly soft.
From day one, you saw a difference in attitude of UCLA's defense and that translated onto the field of play.
In Walker's first year at UCLA is defense was one of the main reasons for arguably the most satisfying win during the Karl Dorrell regime and what Bruin or Trojan fan can remember that thrilling 13-9 victory over a heavily favored USC team.
