Richard Brehaut talks first week
True freshman quarterback Richard Brehaut has been a pleasant surprise during spring camp. It's not that anyone doubted his ability, but to be able to be as efficient and as poised as he has been over the course of six career practices, is quite amazing.
Though he is far from the finished product, it easy to see that Norm Chow has something special to work with.
There aren't many freshmen who can come in and compete, especially a freshman quarterback with six career practices and look as poised and confident as Brehaut. BruinBlitz.com talked with Brehaut after Monday's practice.
BruinBlitz.com: You have now been pursuing your college career for one full week, how do you feel?
Brehaut: "It feels good. Every day it gets more fun and more comfortable. It was stressful the first few days. I was studying at night, practicing in the morning and making sure I was getting my stuff done. It's getting a little bit comfortable now, but we are still installing new stuff.
"Today (Monday April 6th) was kind of stressful, too, because we put in more stuff than we were putting in last week. Today was a little stressful, but I'm sure by tomorrow when I study up those plays tonight, I'll be more comfortable with it."
BruinBlitz.com: That was a pretty nice toss today over the middle when you hooked up with Antwon Moutra
Brehaut: "Yeah that was cool. Antwon ran a good route and I just put it up for him and he made a play."
