Espinosa making the rounds this spring
Cedar Park offensive lineman Dominic Espinosa is one of the top linemen in the state of Texas for the class of 2010. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound member of the early Rivals250 to Watch list has garnered several offers already, including from Texas A&M and LSU.
Last weekend, he took in his second junior day of the 2010 recruiting campaign when he visited Baton Rouge with his father and grandparents. On the way there, however, Espinosa made a stop in College Station to take a closer look at Texas A&M at the request of Aggie head coach Mike Sherman. It was Espinosa's second trip to A&M as he attended their junior day in December with approximately 100 other prospects. However, this visit involved quite a bit more one-on-one time between Espinosa and the A&M staff, especially with Sherman and offensive coordinator Nolan Cromwell.
"I had been talking to (the A&M coaches) every week," said Espinosa. "They have been wanting me to try to come down and take a visit that was more personal than the junior day I went to. It went real well. I got one-on-one time with the coaches and we talked about the how school fits me and how I fit into their schemes. I was with coach Sherman most of the time and I spent some time with coach Cromwell too. The offensive line coach was there. I wasn't able to meet with him but coach Sherman handled everything since he was an offensive line coach himself.
Espinosa lines up at offensive tackle for his high school team, but he says programs are looking at him on the inside of the line.
