Highly recruited WR visits Iowa City
After being named the MVP of the U.S. Army Combine in San Antonio earlier this month, few juniors in the Midwest are receiving as much recruiting attention as wide receiver Kyle Prater at the moment. On Sunday, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Prater made a junior day visit to one of the programs that has extended an early scholarship offer, the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Prater made the drive to Iowa City from the Chicago area where he attends Proviso West High School. The visit gave the junior, who had 948 yards receiving and nine touchdowns last season, a chance to catch up with the Iowa coaching staff, including wide receivers coach Erik Campbell.
Along with Iowa, Prater currently holds scholarship offers from Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Cincinnati with interest from dozens of others. With signing day 2010 over a year away, the wide receiver plans to take his time with the recruiting process.
