Nebraska O-Linemen Commits to UW
Offensive linemen recruit Scott Criss contacted the Wyoming football staff on Monday and tell them he's going to accept a scholarship to play in Laramie. The 6 foot 5 and 250 pound interior linemen needed to make his mind up by Wednesday but committed two days earlier after contacting Nebraska O-Line Coach Barney Cotton this afternoon.
Cotton told him he'd be a part of their elite walk on program but no official scholarship was extended.
Criss told Sean Callahan from HuskerIllustrated.com over the weekend the offer at Wyoming was to good to not accept.
"I am going to make my decision by Wednesday," Criss said over the weekend.. "My parents and I met with Coach Christensen and right now they have three open spots for offensive linemen. They would like to know what I want to do by Wednesday."
Criss came away impressed with many parts of the Wyoming program during last weekend's visit including dedication of coaching staff, facilities, and most importantly a big opportunity to be a part of something big at UW.
"The visit was very informing," Criss said. "I was very impressed with the new staff they hired. Coach Christensen knows what he's doing. He's brought in a bunch of good coaches that were all pretty impressive to be with."
The Cowboys coaching staff was liked Criss' toughness and hard nosed play while he performed at Creighton Prep in Omaha. Criss grew up watching the Cornhuskers but will now become a Wyoming Cowboy.
