Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino formally announced the hiring of mentor and former collegiate head coach John L. Smith at a Friday press conference.

Petrino actually called the press conference to discuss several other aspects of Razorback football as the spring semester begins, but with cornerbacks coach Lorenzo Ward taking the defensive coordinator job at South Carolina and Smith deciding to jump on board, the media got a two-for-one deal.
