Ferentz visits MacMillan
After spending the holidays at home in Toronto, offensive lineman Nolan MacMillan headed back to New Jersey this week where he is currently attending prep school at The Hun in Princeton. With the contact period starting back up in the world of college football recruiting, several coaches have already been by to visit since he has been back on campus, including Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz yesterday.
The 6-foot-6, 284-pound MacMillan made his official visit to Iowa City on December 12 and since then has remained in close contact with lead recruiter Darrell Wilson. His visit with the Iowa coaches wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon, but from there Coach Ferentz boarded his plane to go visit the offensive lineman's parents in Toronto yesterday as well.
Ferentz was the first coach to visit his family in Toronto, but there has been no shortage of coaches stopping by his school this week. In his two days back on campus on The Hun, MacMillan has already seen coaches from Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and Virginia.
After visiting Iowa and Georgia Tech in December, MacMillan is looking at making trips to Virginia, Boston College, and possibly Syracuse this month. The three-star prospect, who plans to major in mathematics, will be looking closely at the academics at each school along with the coaching staff, atmosphere, and facilities.
