After missing most of his senior season with a broken fibula, Logan-Magnolia defensive end Dominic Alvis was not quite sure what to expect during the recruiting process. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Alvis had been receiving scholarship opportunities from smaller schools, but this weekend received the one he was waiting for in the form of a grayshirt offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Prior to Iowa, Alvis held full scholarship offers from Northern Iowa and South Dakota, but it did not take the two-star prospect long to make up his mind.
