Dawgs see Brown, he'll return to Athens
It has been a busy past week for Rivals100 wide receiver Marlon Brown. Just last Tuesday he played in the state championship, then celebrated Thanksgiving before jumping right back into basketball, and now recruiting is getting hot and heavy. Tennessee saw him on Monday and Georgia had two coaches watching him on Tuesday.
"Things are getting real crazy right now with recruiting and basketball," said Brown. "I started playing basketball right after the championship game and I am a little tired, but it is all still fun."
New Tennessee Head Coach Lane Kiffin and a few assistants headed to Memphis Monday to watch Brown play basketball before going to his home for a visit.
On Tuesday, Georgia had Stacy Searels and Mike Bobo in Memphis when Harding Academy played Briarcrest Christian.
"I shook Coach Bobo's and Coach Searel's hand before the game and stuff, but I didn't really get a chance to talk with them this time. I know they will be back, so us not getting to talk didn't bother me at all."
Georgia commitment Austin Long attends Briarcrest Christian and he was in the stands as well. The 6-foot-5, 270 pound All-American offensive tackle has been working the phones for months by sending Brown text messages about UGA and why he chose the Dawgs.
