Croom: It's about bragging rights
With no bowl game left to play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs are simply playing for pride Friday.
The Bulldogs have the opportunity to end the season on a positive note by beating in-state rival Ole Miss in the annual Egg Bowl matchup in Oxford.
"It's a big, big game," said MSU head coach Sylvester Croom. "It gives us bragging rights in the state and that is always important. It would be a great culmination to the season if we are able to win this football game."
The Bulldogs have not won in Oxford since 1998 and Croom is 0-2 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. But according to Croom it does not matter where the game is played this week.
"It's always going to be a tough game whether we play here, there or in the parking lot," Croom said. "You look forward to this game and look forward to this week. It doesn't matter where we play."
The Rebels are 7-4 this season and are winners of their last four games.
