Avoiding the sinking feeling
BALTIMORE - The words echoed inside Notre Dame's locker room, the Victory March rolling off players' tongues with military precision. But after that final lyric rang out the room went silent. Surviving Navy as much as beating the Midshipmen meant the Irish had little emotion left to give. They'd already burned through jubilation, terror and relief during a wild 27-21 win.
