Visit puts Iowa in the lead for Texas corner
Texas cornerback Darius Thomas is back home in the Dallas area this morning after making an official visit to the University of Iowa over the weekend. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Thomas, who attends Cedar Hill High School, enjoyed his stay in Iowa City.
Thomas arrived in Iowa early Saturday morning and watched the Hawkeyes beat Wisconsin 38-16 in Kinnick Stadium. The Texas native said the game day atmosphere was one of the highlights on the trip, along with getting to know the coaching staff.
The trip was the first official visit for Thomas, who currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Kansas State, and Louisiana Tech. Going into the weekend, the two-star prospect was not quite sure what to expect, but after the visit says the Hawkeyes are now at the top of his list.
Thomas plans to visit Kansas State on December 12.
