Lockwood preaching accountability

MORGANTOWN--- Cornerbacks coach David Lockwood played in three bowl games during his Mountaineer career. From 1985 to 1988, Lockwood had 58 tackles, seven pass breakups and two interceptions. Having the opportunity to play for a national championship in the Fiesta Bowl was the perfect cap for his senior campaign. He wants his players to realize the memories that can be made this season rather then settle for the victories of previous years.

"I told my guys after the game, we can't live in last year," said Lockwood. "You guys have to make your own identity. This is your team. You don't want to go out on the memories of the Fiesta Bowl in your junior year. You wanna go out on your memories from your senior year. It's more so that we just gotta keep fighting, keep working and preparing. Things will eventually turn our way."
