Gardiner seeing interest rise
It did not take college coaches long to find Desmond Gardiner. Having moved to Port Arthur, Tex. from Virginia last summer, the cornerback made a splash rather quickly, tallying four interceptions and earning all-district honors for Memorial High as a junior.
Less than a year after moving, the three-star prospect already holds eight scholarship offers and things don't appear to be slowing down. In addition to previous offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Texas A&M and TCU, two other Big 12 schools have made their way into the picture.
"The latest offer I got was Missouri but Nebraska's on my tail right now," said the 5-foot-10, 175-pound defender. "That's about it for lately. Nebraska hasn't offered me yet but I've been talking to coach Mike Ekeler and I'm pretty sure they're about to."
