Javon Harris: Size, Speed, and Footwork
In recruiting the term 'blowing-up' is often used in reference to players whose recruiting interest and national respect grow in a short period of time. The phrase could certainly be used in reference to long-time Oklahoma commitment Javon Harris who left lasting impressions at both the TCU NIKE Camp as well as the Oklahoma camp so far this spring an summer.
Incidentally it could also be used in reference to Harris' quickly thickening frame.
After measuring in at 179-pounds at TCU the 5-foot-11 Harris admits he was a bit stunned by what he saw on the scale and has wasted little time correcting the perceived problem.
"Right now I'm just trying to get up to 200-pounds. I'm moving towards that but basically I'm just focusing on getting stronger and faster," Harris explained. "I'm at about 195-pounds already actually.
"I knew I had a lot of work to do after the camp at TCU, I had lost a bunch of weight over the season by running track. Overall though, I thought I did pretty well."
