When quarterback Christian Ponder walked off the field after practices this spring he typically had a smile on his face. After last Saturday's spring game, however, Ponder's face radiated with disappointment.

After the offense had steadily improved under his direction during the two weeks leading up to the scrimmage, they struggled to get anything going in front of the approximated crowd of thirty thousand that watched from the Doak Campbell Stadium seats.
