Ford enjoys TCU junior day
Will Ford has seen his recruitment sky-rocket in recent months. The play making safety out of Abilene (TX) Cooper has double his offer his in recent weeks after TCU and Baylor both offered and now you can add Texas Tech and Oklahoma to the list.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder with 4.3 speed was in Ft. Worth Saturday to take part in TCU's second junior day and to catch the Frogs scrimmage. What were his thoughts?
"The visit went really well," Ford said. "I really liked it."
This was Ford's first visit to TCU and he had the chance to see the school's new facilities. He also learned more about what the benefit of a good education from TCU can bring.
"[The facilities] were really nice," he said. "It's my first time visiting and I really like the education they have. They said you can make a lot of money with an education from TCU."
Ford, who can cover man to man with the best appears to be the main man the Frogs are after to fit into their defensive scheme.
"They're recruiting me as a safety, they told me I'm their number one safety. They said their safeties are the quarterback of the defense."
Ford also met with the coaches on his visit and came away impressed.
"I got to meet all of them(coaches)," he said. "I got to meet a lot with Coach Patterson, he's a very good guy, he's chill."
Ford said one similarity between he and the Frogs is what makes them standout right now and he rates his visit.
"TCU is very high on my list," he said. "They're high because they like to win and I like to win. I give my visit an "8" (on a scale of 1-to-10). I wish I could've seen their scrimmage but I got there late, they were finishing just as I got there. I'll probably come back for the Spring game because I want to watch their safeties, that's what I wanted to do today."
Ford says he'll likely take other trips in the near future.
"Maybe", he said. "I'll most likely take some other visits."
