There are few positions that are a bigger priority to Oklahoma's class of 2009 recruiting than cornerback. One of the most recent offers is Gaithersburg, Mary. star Travis Hawkins, who says his offer from Oklahoma came as quite a surprise.

In fact it may have even been something of a surprise to the Sooner coaches who have yet to pick up Hawkins' phone call.

"The whole thing was out of the blue, I haven't had much mail or even talked to them," Hawkins said. "I keep trying to reach coach Brent Venables but he hasn't answered yet."
