Hawkinson breaks down in-home visit
Aside from being one of the top tight ends in the class of 2008, Tanner Hawkinson is also an impressive performer on the hardwood. After losing in the state championship game as a junior, the 6-foot-6, 230-pound power forward/center from McPherson (KS) High School is hoping to make a return trip to the final. Hawkinson spoke to Jayhawk Slant about first part of the season and a recent in-home visit with members of the Kansas coaching staff.
Despite his success on the hardwood, there is no question that Hawkinson, the No. 23 ranked player in the class of 2008, has a very bright future on the gridiron field. During his senior season at McPherson (KS) High School, the three-star prospect hauled in 30 receptions for 500 yards and I scored five touchdowns.
