KU overcomes slow start
After a slow start, No. 3 Kansas (15-0, 0-0) was able to use a 29-3 run to finally put away a stingy Loyola (6-9, 1-1) team, 90-60. Filling in for star guard Mario Chalmers who tweaked his groin during practice, Bill Self inserted another star in Sherron Collins, who led the way for Kansas with 18 points. The Jayhawks looked sluggish and disinterested to start the game, but an outburst of disappointment by Self ignited KU to yet another blowout win. Considered one of, if not the best team in the country, Kansas has a perfect record heading into Saturday's conference opener at Nebraska.
It certainly wasn't the start Kansas wanted in the classic sandwich game, but the end result was the same as it has been the entire season.
