Cincinnati Looking to Become West Virginia
The dream is over for the Bearcats and their fans. The dream of a BCS bowl game was literally and figuratively run over by Pat White and the West Virginia Mountaineers Saturday, 28-23.
White rushed for 155 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns, but also threw for 140 yards on 13-19 passing.
"He's a great athlete and he makes play," senior Haruki Nakamura said. "It can be frustrating but you've got to stay focused."
The game was built as the biggest game is school history and as a measuring stick for just where this program has come. In the end, the game proved what was already known: the road to the BCS still goes through Morgantown.
"West Virginia is the bar in this league, there's no question about that," head coach Kelly said.
