Golden sets announcement date
When 5-foot-10, 182-pound Fresno Edison cornerback Robert Golden committed to Arizona in May of this year, it was considered a huge coup for the UA program.
The four-star prospect is the nation's 11th ranked cornerback and 18th best player in California. Throughout his recruitment, Golden has picked up offers from schools such as Arizona, Oregon, Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon State, Washington, Michigan, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.
A couple weeks ago, Golden started to seriously consider other schools besides Arizona. He took official visits to Oregon, Arizona State and this weekend he finally took an official to see the UA.
After this weekend's visit, one school stands out.
"This weekend was great," he said. "I got to talk to the athletic director (Jim Livengood) and he told me about the stability of the coaching staff. That's the reason I was wavering because I didn't think they were going to be there. Now that I know they're going to be there, Arizona is my number one."
