Fields has great time over the weekend
It was a big recruiting weekend for Ohio State when the Buckeyes played Wisconsin. Obviously some of the top senior targets in the country were in attendance, but also there were some talented juniors taking in the action. One of those juniors was Painesville native Chris Fields.
It was a great junior season for Fields. He clearly asserted himself as one of the top players in northeast Ohio, and became one of the most explosive players in the entire 2009 class. For the year he recorded 51 receptions for 879 yards. More impressive than those gaudy numbers is the fact that he scored 20 touchdowns and accounted for 1,876 all purpose yards.
With those numbers have come significant recruiting attention. The University of Akron has already offered Fields, and with tape being sent out to Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, NC State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Florida State, there are sure to be more offers soon to follow.
