Miller making waves in first season in Aggieland
A year ago, Von Miller was a devastating defensive end at DeSoto that forced every offense the Eagles faced to run to the opposite side from where Miller was on the field. His quickness and size made him one of the most feared defensive player in the D/FW Metroplex, and consequently the state of Texas.
Now as a freshman at Texas A&M, Miller is already making his mark in the passing game as one of A&M's best pass rushers. He is coming along quickly, and last Saturday at Nebraska he got his first sack of his collegiate career when he took down Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller in the fourth quarter, which caused a fumble that the Aggies recovered.
For Miller, it was the first payoff for the hard work he has put in during his first season in Aggieland.
"It felt real good. I really hadn't noticed what I did until I got to the sideline," Miller said. "That's when it sunk in that I got my first collegiate sack, and I caused a fumble and everything. I'm still feeling it now, but I've got to get ready for this week too."
