Top hoops target talks about Mizzou visit
While the Missouri football team had a lot of publicized visitors in for yesterday's homecoming win, the Tiger basketball program was also hosting one of the nation's top players. St. Louis big man Tyler Griffey is the No. 75 player in the nation for the Class of 2009 and was in Columbia on an unofficial visit yesterday.
Griffey, who is being courted by the likes of Kansas, Illinois and Stanford in addition to the Tigers, has gotten to know Anderson pretty well in the last year.
Griffey has been to Missouri before and knew what to expect. But with still more than a year before he is due to sign with anyone, he is looking to gather as much information as possible during the recruiting process.
Griffey said he spent the most time with Matt Lawrence, a Lafayette alum, and Justin Safford, a Tiger freshman, during the unofficial visit. He and his high school teammates will have their first practice a week from Monday.
