Analysis: UA offense continues to impress
This victory is definitely something to build on and there are a lot of things on both sides of the ball that the coaching staff and players can take away and improve upon.
The UA offense continues to mature, especially junior quarterback Willie Tuitama. He is definitely getting more comfortable within the system and though he is still reluctant sometimes in looking downfield, he has made sound decisions and has showed maturity in getting rid of the ball.
As evidence, Tuitama was interception-free Saturday and he also did not take a single sack. His stat line for the night read 22-31 passes for 346 and five touchdowns. Solid.
It goes to note, however, how much an effective running attack helps out this offense.
Yes, Arizona does run a spread offense but runs different sets and offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes will exploit whatever the opposing defense is giving up. Against Washington State, the run was there all night long and Dykes and Nicolas Grigsby made the most of it.
